Signed Diamonds — Programme Terms

What Signed is

A Signed Diamond is a diamond with your words inscribed on the girdle, the narrow rim between the crown and the pavilion. The inscription sits outside the path of the light and is cut to be read at around forty times magnification. To the naked eye it is simply a diamond. The laboratory inscription already carried by the stone — the certificate number and the lab-grown identifier — is not disturbed. Your words are added alongside it.

What you can have inscribed

Up to fifteen characters, including spaces. English only. Any character on a standard keyboard, special characters included. The inscription is set in a single Jewelbox typeface. The typeface, the size and the placement are ours, not selectable, and the inscription is not a reproduction of handwriting. Two names are possible if they fit within fifteen characters.

Which diamonds and which pieces

Diamonds of 50 cents, 75 cents, 1 carat, 1.5 carats, 2 carats, 3 carats, 4 carats and 5 carats, in any shape and any cut. Any Jewelbox piece built around a solitaire of those weights. A Signed Diamond may also be bought loose and set later. Where a piece holds three stones, each stone is inscribed separately.

Confirming your words

We confirm your words with you in writing before anything is cut. What you confirm is what is cut, character for character, including spelling, spacing and punctuation. Once you have confirmed, the wording is final. If the text you supply and confirm contains an error, we are not able to remake, replace, refund or compensate. Please read your confirmation carefully.

Words we cannot inscribe

We may decline wording at our discretion. That includes wording that infringes a trademark or another person's rights; a name or mark you have no right to use; wording that is obscene, defamatory, hateful, or offensive on grounds of religion, caste, community or any other protected characteristic; and wording that is unlawful. If we decline, you may give us different words, or cancel for a full refund if we have not begun production. You confirm that you are entitled to use the words you give us, and you agree to indemnify Riyaana Creations Private Limited against any claim arising from them.

Words are not reserved

Words repeat. We give no undertaking that the same wording will not be inscribed for another customer, and no exclusivity or registration of wording is offered.

Cancellation

You may cancel within twenty-four hours of placing your order, subject to deduction of payment gateway charges of 1%. After twenty-four hours the inscription process begins and the order cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded.

Return, exchange and buy-back

Signed Diamonds and Signed Jewellery are not eligible for return under the 15 Day Return Policy, and are not eligible for exchange or buy-back under the Lifetime Exchange & Buy-Back Policy. This applies to the complete piece, including the mount and the metal, and to loose Signed Diamonds. Signed is a programme built around a permanent change made to your stone at your instruction, and that change cannot be undone.

Resale

The inscription is not a valuation attribute. We make no representation that it adds to, preserves or affects the market value of your diamond. Because we do not take Signed pieces back, your ability to resell is affected. Please consider this before you order.

Certification

Every Signed Diamond ships with its IGI laboratory report. The laboratory inscription on the girdle is unaffected and continues to correspond to that report.

Repair, resizing and resetting

Your words are on the stone, not on the metal. Resizing cuts the shank; repairs and resets work on the setting. Neither touches the girdle. We are not responsible for damage to a diamond or to an inscription caused by work carried out by any other jeweller.

Diamonds you already own

The programme runs on new purchases only. We do not inscribe diamonds bought earlier or bought elsewhere.

Your loupe

A loupe comes with every Signed piece so that you can read your words yourself, without a jeweller. Any jeweller with professional loupes can also read them; a standard ten-times loupe will not resolve them. The loupe is an accessory and is not part of the jewellery. It is supplied as is and carries no warranty. Your words remain readable regardless: any jeweller with professional loupes can read them.

Your words and your privacy

The words you give us are held as part of your order record and shared only with our inscription facility and, where applicable, the grading laboratory. We do not publish or use your words, or photographs of them, in any marketing without your separate written consent. Our Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
